The biophysical foundations of human movement explored through virtual and mechanical avatars of the human bodies sensory motor system. There will be a focus on the ways in which each of the elements in the performance contributes to generation and transmission of different aspects of human motion. The elements of the performance create a loop of information between each other and hence articulate a system. The intention to create a multi-media metaphor for the system of the human body.

The principles of the body?s nervous system will be demonstrated through the creation of a software based control system. Computer scientist Nick Rothwell is working with three choreographers, an improvisation dancer and musical director Stevie Wishart to develop a time and musical mapping system between the movement of the dancer and the sounds and gestures of the musician to create a real-time animation of the virtual dancer.
